Solving problems related to spherical shapes – Matemáticas 9°
by Cátedra SAS
The curiosity about the movement of celestial bodies has been present since the times of our ancestors, and we have tried to reproduce shapes similar to that of our planet Earth, which we call a sphere, even though it is not regular. Nowadays, we use this three-dimensional figure in many aspects of our lives. However, its characteristics and properties generally go unnoticed. We use this geometric shape in sports, art, technology, and architecture, among other fields. Do you know… How factories do to make all the balls the same? How architects create such spectacular works? Which characteristics a lime, an orange, and a golf ball share? How a basketball ball is covered? These and other questions can be answered with the help from geometry and the study of the properties of spheres. Let’s go
