The teacher presents, with the help of an animation, the importance of functions in mathematics and other contexts.The teacher may introduce the topic by presenting a pair of examples where functions may be applied in medicine, biology, chemistry, physics, information technologies, economy, statistics, geometry, engineering, and odontology, among others. Specific applications of functions in real life may be presented and the teacher may focus on the fact that functions are one of the most relevant concepts in mathematics, because it can be applied to many other disciplines.
